2009 is Here!

In looking at the scriptural use of the number nine, I am reminded that it is the number of the spiritual gifts found in 1 Corinthians 12, which of course are what we refer to as the power gifts given by the Holy Spirit. They are different kinds of gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.

Also, in Galatians 5 we see the number nine used in identifying the “fruit of the Spirit.” Here we see all the character issues that identify us as one who lives by the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

In putting these two differing sets of gifts together, I believe a prophetic sign has been given to me—that in the year 2009, we will experience greater power, and greater character will be developed in our lives. These two changes together will greatly affect the answer to our Lord’s prayer, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

This is my prayer for WWAM for 2009: greater signs and wonders (for His glory) and greater character to be developed in our teams.
